ASL fluency level appropriate for medical assignments.
Proven ability to effectively interpret between ASL and English, as demonstrated by a national certification.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work independently, including monitoring own schedule, arriving on-time to customer worksites, and patiently handling situations as they arise in the field.
High-school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to travel to the Hampton Roads Peninsula daily. The majority of the appointments will be medical, between Williamsburg and Newport News/Hampton.
Duties and Tasks:
Convey the message and intent of the speaker in a linguistically and culturally equivalent manner in English and/or ASL.
Adhere to the ethical standards set by the RID-NAD Code of Professional Conduct.
Provide excellent customer and consumer service as a representative of the company.
Attend assigned interpreting engagements and complete required company reporting on-time.
Perform administrative tasks or other duties as assigned.
